Nepal is planning to launch more voiceover-Internet Protocol (VoIP) licenses. As per the plan, Internet service providers that serve 25 districts as well as 13,000 village development committees could be eligible to apply for a VoIP license. According to the Himalayan Times, NTA (Nepal Telecommunications Authority) chairman Bhesh Raj Kanel said that the Ministry of Information and Communication has approved this plan put forward by the NTA. The proposal has been sent to the Ministry of Law and Justice to get its consent.
