Qld: Beattie's wife says premier's look 'not so bad'

BRISBANE, Aug 29 AAP - Queensland Premier Peter Beattie won't be overhauling his image
after his style was given the thumbs up by his wife Heather today.

While accident-prone Liberal Leader Bruce Flegg is getting tips from the deportment
and grooming company June Dally-Watkins, Mrs Beattie today said her husband did not need
a makeover because his look was "not so bad".

Mr Beattie, clearly buoyed by the comment despite a newspaper report that he was "getting
thin on top" and needed a good trim, said that was all the advice he needed.

"The reality is I am thinning on top, that's the problem of being 53 years of age,
and I'm not in a (former prime minister and dapper dresser) Paul Keating class, I've never
sought to be a flashy dresser," he said.

"What you see with me is what you get.

"If my missus says that I look ok, that'll do me."
