Qld: Jury retires in fake US bonds case

A District Court jury's retired to consider its verdict in the trial of a Brisbane
man .. accused of trying to sell counterfeit bonds to the Turkish government.

62-year-old WILLIAM DAVID WALLADER has pleaded not guilty to nine counts of possessing
a counterfeit prescribed security.

WALLADER was allegedly caught with the bonds .. with a face value of 1.3 billion US
dollars ($A1.53 billion) .. in his possession in March 2005 .. during proceedings in an
unrelated civil case.
