NSW: Shark attack victim thanks beautiful wave.

A man who trekked 500m to safety after being mauled by a shark has credited a perfect
wave for delivering him from what he says would have been a fatal return attack.

Teacher MARK BUTLER, 40, in Lismore hospital on the New South Wales north coast recovering
from the attack, says he thought he was going to die when the shark mauled his leg.

Mr BUTLER says he thought the shark was going to return for a second attack.
